I pray that this person's immortal soul will watch over each life that she left behind and that the Virgin Mother of God will protect her family.
I offer my vocations of counsel as a sacred penance for the departure of my archangel.

I was at the reading & heard Ellen Judd - and found this story and was very moved by it. Christine & Michael sound like amazing people, and my heart goes out to both of their families - and as a New Yorker, am very proud that you gave such a loving tribute! I know many nurses & nursing students and will let them know about this scholarship...thanks again.

Dear Christine, "God Bless You!" Another year has passed! Seems like it was yesterday. We will never forget you! Our tears still flow for you & all the many souls who where taken from us all that day. I haven't been down to ground zero since Sept. 2001 - Nov. 2001. It's too hard to bare! Every time we go down to the city, it isn't the same, the Towers are gone, it feels so empty! Our hearts ache! Everyone is fighting to keep the memories of that day alive. So many other are becoming ill, from the effects of that day! Our Thoughts & prayer are with you & your Family. "WE WILL NEVER FORGET!" Love from Winnipeg, & N.Y. Debbie Ruth McDermid-Alfano & Family

My hurt breaks for the pain and suffering Sept 11/01 caused. So many people affected in so many different ways. My thoughts are with the Egan family as they struggle to face what lies ahead. My mother died a few years ago and it comforts me to think that wherever she is she has such wonderful company in Michael and Christine Egan.

Chris was my first Nurse-in-Charge in the Canadian Arctic. She was a mentor, and a friend. She gave a lot to the people of the North and will not be forgotten. Heaven is a better place because of her presence.

We share not only the same name but also the same age. Reading what wonderful people they were, I am doubly sorry; first that they had to be taken from us and second that we had never met. God bless them both.

As another mature student out to earn a Ph.D. in the same University and in a closely related field, I regarded Dr. Egan as an inspiration and a hero even though I didn't know her and only met her once. Has any place been untouched by this monstrous outrage? Her death is a great loss for my home province. She will be sorely missed.

I work for Health Canada as did Christine, but did not know her personally. I do know that everyone that knew her, liked her. I am still so sad about what happened several months later, and I can only imagine how the family is feeling. To lose two in the same family and two that were so close at that. You know they are together and will not be forgotten. On behalf of all employees at Health Canada, we send our condolenses and just know that Christine and Michael are thought about daily..by people that knew them and didn't. We grieve as a Nation for all the people that perished that day. Canada and the United States are neighbours, but as one in these times.

America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn

To friends and family of Michael and Christine Egan:
I am so sorry for your tremendous loss. On Sunday I became the recipient of a Mercy Band engraved with Christine's name. I will wear it daily and remember you all in my prayers. The Mercy Band ministry is an answer to prayer for me. I've been wondering for the past 3 months what I can do to help. Now I have a specific family I can pray for!
May God be with each of you and strengthen you and give you His peace during this Christmas season.
