Sharon Moore Obituary

Laughing at Her Stumbles
For all of Sharon Moore's beauty and elegance ‹ a slender 5 feet, 9 inches, she was a sometime model whose photo was featured in an issue of Esquire ‹ she lacked a certain physical grace. "She was a very clumsy person," said Barbara Bridges, Ms. Moore's mother. "She was always falling."

But Ms. Moore, 37, and a native New Yorker, was not embarrassed by her many stumbles. "She would come home and tell us how she fell," said her brother, Raybury Moore. "She was able to laugh at it."

Though her relationship with gravity was undeniable, Ms. Moore, a vice president at Sandler O'Neill, had another side that was less evident. "At her memorial service, I said a few words, but one thing I didn't convey is how funny she was," said her brother. She was even thinking of pursuing a career as an actor or comedian, he said.

With her gone, there is less to laugh about. Ms. Moore's son, Lance, was a Thanksgiving baby, said his grandmother. He will be 15 at the end of this month. "But I don't think there will be a Thanksgiving here this year," said Ms. Bridges. "I don't really feel like Thanksgiving."

To Violet & Family:

Violet its been sometime since I last saw you, Sharon, your Mother and believe it or not I've never met Sharon's son. My deepest condolences to you & your family. I too remeber Sharon as a natural beauty, in Spirit & Mind as well. We were so young, carefree and dreamers we all. I remeber us running up & down to each other's apartments. Yours, mine and Emma & Diane's. We truly had somekind of friendship. Of course through time we may loose touch but not our Love for each other. I'm sure you all are still adjusting to Sharon not being there physically but rest assure she's in all of our hearts & memories. I listened carefully today for her name during the memorial service but time (as it does) did not allow me to listen just as her name was called. Let me tell you throughout this morning I thought of all my Fahter's children, nieces & nephews who were due to be there that morning, I know God has other plans for us because we were safe. I'm sure he has plans for Sharon and especially for your nephew who I'm sure has many shoulders to lean on @ this time. Please let him know that although we haven't met as yet, we are thinking of him. Violet I hope you read this soon so that we may come together.

Peace, Love & know that you are in our thoughts.

I also would like to add a few words about sharon. She's a beautiful girl, always will be, I admired her beauty, I knew she would be a model, or someone that would make an impression on people. She was kind and sweet, I'll always remember the good times we had growing up. God bless her and keep her safe...your friend for life Michelle

My condolences to the family. I grew up with sharon in Coney Island with her sister violet. I am deeply hurt. I found out about her by accident. While walking on flatbush avenue in brooklyn her step sister spotted me last august and informed me of the bad news. I was devastated, not knowing that she had past, not being able to say goodbye was hurtful. I haven't seen sharon in quite a few years but I've seen her sister some time ago. I am truely sorry for your lost and for all the families that have lost their loved ones. Please, if the family reads this please contact me through my email. Thank you and god bless.

I could not visit this site and just read the other tributes to Sharon and not contribute something also. I met Sharon on a few occasions, but talked to her MANY, MANY times on the phone. Sharon had one of the softest, sweetest voices, she sounded like she was about 16. Then when I finally met her, I realized that her personality went right along with that voice, sweet. Sharon was a beautiful woman, and when I heard that she was missing, it truly hurt my heart. I want her son, mother, brother, sisters and Dennis to know that they have been in my prayers and they were truly blessed to have Sharon in their lives. Please try to live life to the fullest as she would have wanted you to and make her proud!

I was devestated to hear of the loss of one so beautiful and noble. I haven't seen Sharon for many years (since our days of school in Coney Island), however hearing of her life successes and achievements through mutual friends has comforted me. God bless her mother, sister, son and brother. She will be watching from above and shining her bright smile amongst us all.

With love,

My God,

I remember in March 1999, I was filling in as a temp for Sharon Moore at the receptionist desk of Sandler O'Neill. EVERYONE!! There thought I was related to Sharon. They just had excellent and graceful things to say about this woman. I never got the chance to meet her..but spoke to her...I belive she was recovering from a foot operation. Nevertheless, God is in control of EVERYTHING. I know God will give Sharon's son, mom, brother and other family members rest to know that..her life is now in his hands. Remember: The flesh may die, but the soul lives forever...Though she is missed...I know she was a woman of God...because I remember the Godly messages and prayers around her desk. She is in the best hands right now. ONe day we will meet her and say, GIRL, WE MISSED YA! HERE ON EARTH!. But please rest on the fact that..our permanent residence is actually in heaven...she just got a headstart to the streets of Gold..Afterall..she was a beautiful person. Let go and let God...he's in control..not matter how horribly ill and sick you feel inside because of Sharon's death...pray and pray...and read your bible...and belive me you, God has his own way..of filling the whole. Trust him. He works in mysterious ways...but when we follow his instructions by forming the relationship of praying and reading the word..he works all right. God Blessngs to all. [email protected]

Precious Sharon!

How does one describe the beauty of this precious sister, without first seeing the beauty of her heart. Sharon was such a unique person. She didn't bring sunshine; she was sunshine. Her smile and her phenomenal wit, drew many people to her. She had class, character and a genuine spirit. Sharon was good for a laugh. She had many stories that would have you bent over from laughing. She was an excellent mother and very proud of her son, Lance! I will miss her at family gatherings during the holidays. I will miss her laugh. I will miss her! Ma Barbara, I know you are very proud of Sharon's accomplishments and the person she had become. You know you're always in my and my family's prayers. I thank God for our precious moments that my cousin and I shared together laughing and sharing times of our past. I also thank God that Sharon and I got to talk about her faith in Jesus Christ this summer when she came down for a visit. Sharon was a strong believer and I know she is somewhere around God's throne singing with the angels. Sharon will be greatly missed by us. We love you and we thank God that he gave us 37 yrs with you.

Yes, Weeping may endure for a night but joy cometh in the morning!

To the family,

May HE wipe away the tears from your eyes that you may be able to see through the mist, beyond death and grave, to the ressurection and life assured by the glorious victory of the LORD JESUS CHRIST over death and the grave. May the passing of Sharon remind us that we too are but a pilgrim living in a strange land...LYNN AND EDDIE

I am deeply sadden with such a great lost. Sharon had such a promissing future, and it was suddenly stolen, she's in a better place now! To the family, I know the pain, but we must turn our angry into praise and worship, keeping our heads up high giving God all the glory, even in a time of sorrow.

Love you girrrrrrl

Such a beautiful woman. Sharon's picture with such a brilliant smile and shining eyes must be a reflection of a warm, happy, caring heart. We are deeply sorry for your loss of Sharon. Our hearts cry with you.

America Cries

We see your sorrow-

and our hearts cry....

We can not erase your pain

but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-

-the American people-

are beside you.

We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,

the strength that gives you courage,

and the words to lighten your spirits.

And when we are left speechless

may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts

to ease your sorrow.

May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-

-the American people-

face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
