I rode for Emelda this year in the 9/11 Foundation Ride to NYC, and I'm proud to have had the name of someone who obviously has shared so many great memories with the people surrounding her. It's nice to read some of those memories that everyone has shared, allowing me to know her a little better. It was just 5 days away from my 11th birthday when we were attacked and I'm proud to say that ten years later, I remember and that I will never forget. My thoughts and prayers are with Emelda's family and friends.

As I cross-stitched your name on the memorial that I am doing for all of the victims, I prayed for you and your family. Please know that your death was not in vain. We will always remember. God Bless.

To my Godmother Emelda Perry (Goddie Doll),
No words can describe how I felt as I watched on television, the horror of 9/11. I immediately thought of you and prayed for God to protect you. However, in His infinite wisdom, He sought to call you home. I miss you dearly. Since we left NY, so much has happened. I'm now a law school graduate and I married a wonderful man. You've known me and the family BEFORE my birth! Mommy misses you dearly and speaks of you often. You gave me my first bath in the kitchen sink. You nicknamed me Punkie (smile). You were a bridesmaid at my mother's wedding. You are--and always will be--a part of our family. And I pray that I will see you in heaven one day! May God continue to bless your family (Uncle Patrick, Melissa, Kevin) and know that WE WILL NEVER FORGET your life.

Hi Emelda, Can hardly believe 10 months have passed since I've seen you. I think of you often and miss you and our morning chats. Today I ordered two freedom bracelets. One with your name and one with the trade center. I'm planning on passing the one with your name on to your son William and I'll proudly wear the other. God bless you and your family. Your friend, Juanita

I have known Emelda since October 17, 1977 that was my first day at EBASCO. I worked with Emelda in the Records Center at 2 Rector Street. Then when we moved to the WTC I transferred to Accounts payable, and then worked with her again in Office Services until I left Ebasco. She was a great person and a good friend. May her soul Rest in Peace.

Dear Family and Friends of Emelda Perry:
I'd like to express my deepest sympathy and condolences on the loss of Emelda. I used to work with her in the World Trade Center back when the company was known as Ebasco and always remember her as a very cheerful, happy and extremely meticulous and always willing to help if she could. I would always run into her in the course of the day and she always stopped to say hello and ask how you were doing. God bless her and watch over you and your family as she is now one of God's angel's and in a better place. I still work for the same company as Emelda, Washington Group but I am in the Princeton office. I also know the pain and suffering that you are going through as I too have lost someone I loved. My sister
worked in Tower One and we also lost
her on Sept. 11. I wish our loved ones would have survived but unfortunately there is nothing we can do to change the events of that day. I ask myself everyday Why Her? Why my sister? Why Emelda? Why Bob DeAngelis and the other 11 people who perished from Washington Group.I get no answers, I only say to myself that it must have been there time, they were chosen to join
God in his kingdom and now live in
eternal peace and I believe that they are in a better place and we who they left behind suffer because
we cannot see them anymore but as long as we keep them in our heart and we have our memories, they will never die. They will never be forgotten, not by us the family who knew and loved them, and not by the rest of the world. The support and love of all of America for our loved ones and the nation that feels our grief and pain will make them live in our hearts and souls forever. Emelda, sweetheart may you rest in peace and say hello to my sister Pamela. Till I see you both again please watch over all of us. God Bless! If anyone from Emelda's family would like to talk please feel free to e-mail me and I would be glad to talk to you.
Sincerely,
Desiree

Our day’s with you, we thought would be eternal, unlike the day’s of fall approaching.
Our voice’s are strong like the deafening sound of the towers? I know your calling to us?
but we can’t here you anymore.
Our eyes are no longer the windows on the world,
we know your there?
but we can’t see you.
Our eyes are searching with burning tears?
it’s were you’ve been?
but we can’t find you.
Our arms are open for you, as they have always been.
but we can’t feel you.
Our hands are reaching for you.
but your not there.
Our sprite like the towers have grumbled to the bottom of our hearts,
Our memory of you is our resolve, and more than a brave face.
Our body’s your shield, wanting to protect you,
here we are one after another ready to take your place.

To the family of 'Dolly', may you find strength and peace in these times of sorrow. The Bible's hope of a resurrection is so encouraging, especially knowing that God CANNOT lie. Your loved one will live again!

America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
