Not sure what to say?

Dear Janet, Patti and Mike,
Maribel sent such a positive caring energy through our family, spreading laughter, humor and love. It was Maribel's extraordinary gift to make each of us feel good about ourselves. She touched us with her resplendent irrepressible infectious enthusiasm for life. What a rare special privilege to have known her.

Dear Janet , Patti and Mike,
I loved your mother as did everyone who knew her. Our mothers(Marilo Squire) had such a good time together! Maribel also helped get me my first nursing job at St. Josephs in Albuquerque. You were a lucky family to have such a mother. Love, Kathy Falk

Just learned of Maribel's passing a few minutes ago. What a heartbreak for so many. A dear, dear friend for so many years. My love and hugs for all of her family.

Maribel was the best neighbor, friend and Grammy to Ken & I & our sons, Nathan, Brent & Ryan. Her joy, love and kindness reflected The Lord, Jesus, in every way. We loved her dearly and will always be grateful to have had her in our lives.
May we all love well, just as Maribel/Grammy showed us.
Love & Prayers ~

My dear PEO Sister. You were such a joy to be with at our meetings. Your joy with everything around you made everyone happy.
I know you are going to keep everyone in heaven on there toes with your sunshine face and voice. Keep the "Chapter" under control until we all get there to help.
LPEO

Janet, Patti and Mike:
We will remember your mother, as so many other people will remember her, as a person who embraced everyone she knew with a very deep and genuine love. Some of our fondest family memories are of times we got to visit with her. She will be sorely missed.

To Maribel's family--Know that the residents of Rhea Rd. loved having your dear 'Grammy' as a neighbor. She was sweet and fun-loving, and had a wonderful sense of humor. We'll miss her.

Maribel Mullins: A STAR in every sense of the word!! Greatly missed. Never forgotten.

Obituary

Maribel's Obituary

Maribel "Grammy" Mullins got her angel wings on July 11, 2016, with her three children by her side. Grammy was born in Stuart, Iowa, on December 4, 1924, to Mary and Everett Pratt. She earned her R.N. during the war at the University of Iowa, where she met the love of her life, Ross Mullins, who was studying Electrical Engineering on the G.I. Bill. They were married on December 19, 1947, at her parents' home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Soon after, they moved to Joliet, Illinois, where Maribel worked at St. Joseph's Hospital and Ross worked in Chicago for Illinois Power and Light. Over the next few years, all three children were born at St. Joseph's. In 1953, they moved with their three young children (ages 3, 2, and 1) to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where Ross began working for the Public Service Company of New Mexico. During their time in Albuquerque, and later in Deming, New Mexico (1960-1968), and then back in Albuquerque, Maribel worked as a private care nurse, a surgical nurse, and a nurse for a group of cardiologists. She loved caring for and helping others, but her family and her faith always came first. She was very active in her church and her P.E.O. chapter, and was the Republican County Chairwoman for several years in Deming. Once she became a grandma in 1975, she enjoyed everyone calling her "Grammy"! She never tired of spending time with her five grandchildren, and loved making her yummy "Grammy Treats" for them and their friends. She even sent care packages to them in college! One of the joys of her life was getting to attend the five weddings of her grandchildren. She was also honored to serve as the State President of the P.E.O. Sisterhood in New Mexico. Grammy and Papaw celebrated 50 years of marriage in 1997, before he passed away in 1998.As one of her grandchildren said: "Grammy loved everyone she met. Her love was accepting, tireless, encouraging, gracious, unwavering, faithful, and above all joyful. In fact, her heart gave people so much love over 91 years that it finally wore out. Many of us will never know a kinder soul or a brighter smile."Grammy was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Everett Pratt, her husband, Ross, and her brother, Tom Pratt. She is survived by her sister, Pat Lusted; Grammy's 3 children and their spouses: Janet Mullins and Pat Matzner; Tim and Patti Gallegly; and Mike Mullins; her five grandchildren and their spouses: Mike and Ann Gaskin, Cris and Kim Gaskin, Mary and Joe Deka, Stephanie and Nick VanderLinden, & Katie and Pete Lynch; and the latest source of constant joy in life–her 9 great-grandchildren; along with a large extended family! She will be missed by everyone who was fortunate enough to know and love her.A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, July 17, at Dayspring United Methodist Church, 1365 Elliot Rd., Tempe, AZ 85284 at 1:00 pm. There will be a small reception at the church after the celebration. In lieu of flowers, Grammy would appreciate donations to: Dayspring United Methodist Church1365 Elliot Rd.Tempe, AZ 85284Central United Methodist Church201 University Blvd.Albuquerque, NM 87106Hospice of the Valley1510 E.
