My life will never to be same without u mom I'm so use to seeing u everyday and if I went a day with out seeing u you would always call me to tell me what u cooked for us or what kind of receipt u have found and was going to make so I would have to come get some for Tommy and when u put something on Facebook and all of the people who would comment on it how it will make u so happy and I no all I have now is them memories and I will always cherish them forever I just can't imagine my life with...

Ora you wasn't just my Cousin. I considered you as one of my best friends. You have all ways been there to help me and my Grand Babies. You have helped so many people in Harlan county. You all ways treated everybody so good and always done everything in love, smiles and happiness. Charity comes from the heart and you sure had it. You showed me what a true Christian should be.I love you and you will always be in my thoughts and in my heart. Prayers for All your family and everybody in Harlan...

Ora's Obituaries

Ora Middleton Lewis, 72, of Evarts, passed away Friday, March 24, 2017, at her home. Born February 22, 1945 in Harlan County, she had lived here all of her life. Ora was a sales associate at both TG&Y and K-Mart and cooked for many years at Dairy Hut. She believed in the Holiness faith. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lee Middleton and Estell Farley Middleton; two brothers, George “Brube” Middleton and Bob Middleton; three sisters, Margaret “Pug” Carpenter, Lora Messer and Betty Patricia Middleton; two grandchildren, Jessica and Jonathan Lewis; and four brothers-in-law, Harry Abner, Junior Couch, Mickey Messer and Gary Carpenter. Survivors include her husband, Claude Lewis, Evarts; five children, Clayton Lewis and wife, Brenda, Georgetown, KY; Bernard Lewis and wife, Selena, Evarts; Loretta Saylor and husband, Tommy, Evarts; Gary Lewis and wife, Betsy, Evarts; and Sissy Napier and husband, Jody, Harlan; four brothers, Earl Lee Middleton and wife, Demples; Hayward Middleton and wife, Jane; James Middleton and wife, Charlene; and Larry Middleton and wife, Carol, all of Evarts; three sisters, Delilah Joyce Abner, Evarts; Lavina “Tiny” Causey and husband, Jamie, Sweetwater, TN; and Kathy Couch, Evarts. Also surviving are her sisters-in-law, Jean Middleton and Etta Mae Middleton, both of Evarts; Ruby Miller and husband, Pete Miller, Louisville; brother-in-law, Jack Bentley, Louisville; 10 grandchildren, Zack Lewis, Amanda Saylor Griffith and husband, Cody, Chelsea Saylor, Leah Saylor, Dylan and Dawson Napier, Gabby Lewis, Gabe Lewis, Cody Lewis and Shauntae Lewis; three great-grandchildren, Hannah Griffith, Hailey Holbrook and Rylie Griffith; her pet dog, Buddy; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Visitation will be held Sunday from 5 until 8 at the Evarts Funeral Home. Funeral service will be conducted Monday at 2 pm at the Evarts Funeral Home with the Reverend Perry Long and Reverend Bill Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the Evarts Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.   Evarts Funeral Home is in charge of her arrangements.
