John Barnes Obituary
Panama City - John Scott Barnes, age 53, passed away on September 23, 2020. Scott was born on June 20, 1967 in North Carolina to John and Georgia Barnes.
Scott served 4 years in the US Army, loved working on boats, loved his sons, and loved his '67 Chevelle. He was the business owner of Panhandle Marine Controls.
Scott is preceded in death by his father, John Rufus Barnes. He is survived by his mother, Georgia Barnes; wife Bridgette Baggett Barnes. He is survived by his children Michael Barnes, Matthew Barnes, Branden Barnes, Kyle Rink; step children Jantzen Humphreys, wife Angela; and Nichole Humphreys. Grandchildren Shaylyn Barnes, Sophia Barnes, Sterling Barnes, Alekai Humphreys and Arabella Humphreys. Many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted on October 2, 2020 at 1pm at Kent Forest Lawn Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors at 11am prior to the service.

Like everyone I am shocked and saddened by Scott's sudden passing. Though not related I would have been proud to be his family. He had the old school ethics, honesty, and integrity that I believe in and teach my children. Scott did some extensive work installing a full electronics package on an old trawler that I had years ago and work was outstanding! The install was cleanly laid out and done way ahead of schedule. I always considered him a friend and brother after that! Rest In Peace my friend. I pray that God comforts Scott's loved ones to cherish these kinds of memories.
