Clarence was our CPA for 10 years back in the 80's. His career began before computers but unlike many others, he made the transition and always was flexible and moved forward with the times. He was a great teacher and thinker. Sometimes to get his point across, he would pound his fist on the desk. When he would come across a tax law that he felt was unfair, he would jump right on the phone, punch the number in from memory, and the rep in Lansing knew who it was without introduction. His...

The author pegged Clarence beautifully and most accurately in how he held politicians accountable. He called me regularly regarding Saginaw County issues and had a way of getting right to the point, with very direct questioning. I respected his opinion immensely and relied on his business acumen regarding any issue. He was a very good man, leaving a distinguished legacy of which I'm certain you, his family, must be very proud!

Hello this is a voice from Clarences past. I am Marcia (Dankers)Griffus niece of Agnes Masica. Knew both Anne and Clarence from a little girl when I would be at the Lincoln Tavern in Bridgeport. Knew Clarence as a quiet sweet man with always the best smile for this little girl. Anne worked for my Aunt Aggie I think. Sweet memories of a long time ago.

Clarence was my father's CPA for the family business and his personal taxes. He always spoke about him with high esteem, valued his opinion and expertise, and enjoyed him as a friend. Our condolences to his family.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. Clarence was a remarkable man and had a remarkable mind. Anyone who ever knew him will never forget him. He certainly had a passion for what he did, and holding Michigan and Washington accountable to its people. R.I.P.
