Not sure what to say?

Mr. Green was without a doubt my favorite teacher in high school. He had a great sense of humor and he shared his wonderful life stories with us often. He played along with our silly student pranks yet he taught us to love stories and writing and learning in general. Watching him write assignments on the board was like watching a calligraphist at work. He will be greatly missed and DeRidder High School will never be the same. Sending peace and love to his family at this sad time.

Mr. Green was the very definition of the term role model. He wasn't just an educator; he was your friend. He made his classroom feel like a place you should be. He wanted everyone to succeed in life, no matter who you were. His words and teachings still stick with me. I'm so very thankful to have been a student of his. God bless him and his family. Thank you for everything you've done. Your legacy lives on Mr. Green.

Gerald touched my heart and I will always remember him as my favorite teacher, as I know many others will too. He inspired me and honored me with his encouragement in my high school years. I will never forget him, and feel blessed to have known him. My heart goes out to his family and friends. May you find peace and comfort in knowing that he was loved by many who share your grief. He was truly a pillar of the community and an example for us all.

My heart weeps ! Gerald you were not only as long as I can remember like family to me, and my family. You were a mentor to not only me, but my son as well. You will not ever be forgotten! I loved you and I love your family! Rest in Blissful Peace. My thoughts and my prayers are with all the family. I’m sure what a rejoicing is going on! And our mothers are having a grand grand time, and not missing a chance at playing canasta. You will be very missed, I know your wings are just Absolutely...

Sorry to hear of your loss.

Praying for your family. May God comfort and strengthen you during this time.

May the wonderful memories bring peace to your hearts.
I knew Gerald as a fellow classmate at DHS. I still remember his brilliance.

Gerald Green was one of the nicest people I have ever known. I worked with Gerald at DHS for several years and grew to respect him so very much. He was truly a friend who was always willing to help you in any way he could. Always a BIG hug from him. You girls had a great Dad and I am so sorry for your loss.

Gerald and I shared a desk in second grade. We became good friends. We shared many classes over the years and graduated in ‘65. He was one of my oldest and dearest friends. He is missed. God be with you girls and your families.

Mr. Green made the world a better place. I was blessed to have known him. My heart goes out to you, Kim and Heather. May God comfort you and your family.

In loving memory of a wonderful teacher, role model and the nicest teacher I ever know . We will love you and miss you always.
