I met Cecil and his wife through my dad, Earl Woodcock. My dad worked for JW Murchison's and Cecil was one of my dad's accounts. My dad and Cecil became great friends and would even fish together. Cecil once took a picture of my dad wearing a business suit, carrying a fishing rod under his arm and 2 twenty pound bluefish in each hand as he walked back to Newell's. They both were suppose to be working, but Cecil told my dad the big blues were running, so they took off across the dunes at...

No words can bring justice to how special Grandaddy was to us grandchildren. Instead of describing him I want to share a small funny story. He used to take Gabe and I hiking. One day we had a forecast for severe weather but it still look nice out. So me being me begged to walk down to the pond, and Grandaddy not wanting to disappoint went with us. We got down to the bridge and the clouds were rolling in but still no rain, he wanted to go back. I persisted and he humored me and we continued...

I'm saddened to hear this, Cecil was a true Wrightsville Beach icon and entrepreneur. RIP Mr. Seal... Thank you for your service and for the many wonderful childhood memories surrounding Newells. May God bless you, your family, and my WB elementary school friend Donna in this time of sorrow.

Cecil was one of the most generous man i have ever known.He new me when i was adopted by my parents Tom and Bet Jarrett i loved going into Newells when i was a kid i would always go upstairs to the fishing dept to go see his son wayne .What a great memory of such a great guy.When he came back to wilmington he looked me up on Facebook to say hello im so glad i had a chance to be apart of his life as a good friend.You will be missed ole buddy
