Not sure what to say?

I still miss Bob dearly. He was a dear friend, not only to me, but to all. We need more 'Bobs' now more than ever. He was a kind soul from humble beginnings that he never forgot. Rest in Peace Bob.

God bless your family. You are now resting in our Saviors arms. In 1983, you welcomed me as an intern from East Carolina. Thanks be to God that I had the privilege of working with you and dear Viola B Jones...I will always treasure your kindness and encouragement. What a beautifully blessed family. I continue to grieve the passing of Bob. However, I am joyful to the time I shared with him tirelessly working on tobacco cessation and all things public health. He was a champion with a golden heart and love of all people.

Mary Beth and family, I regret just learning of Bob’s passing. My condolences to you all at this very sad time. Bob was always one of the all-time good guys of MHS, in sports that we played together, a fierce competitor, and friendliness to all. He always had a smile on his face or was laughing. That’s how I’ll always remember him. And Mary Beth, your love through high school through all time.

I first met Bob working on a committee for Eastern District NCPHA. He and Mary Beth became special friends to me though the years of attending Eastern District and State public health meetings. He encouraged me to be President of Eastern District when I thought I could not do the organization well, and I am thankful for his support in that position as well as Secretary to NCPHA. He was always kind, humble, and friendly. I enjoyed spending time with Bob and Mary Beth and was always in awe...

I had the privilege of interacting with Bob through Leadership NC, Leadership Winston Salem, and in his leadership position at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.

A finer man, interpersonally and professionally I have never met. Bob was a wonderful spirit, considerate and caring, and a consummate administrator in his chosen field.

The Lord blessed all of his relationships and his family with his wonderful influence and presence.
I will remember forever...

So sad to hear this. I had the pleasure of working with Bob when he was Health Director in Wilmington. My mom worked with him when he was in Bertie. Always kind and a gentleman. Prayers to his family and friends. He made a difference.

We are so sorry for your loss. His sense of humor and love for people made it a delight to serve along side of him in Winston Salem

Bob Parker was a mentor to me for oh so many years, and he is still on my shoulder whispering advice to me in that beautiful, kind voice of his. One of my favorite memories was when we went to the White House together to make the case for tobacco control, and spent time with DHHS Secretary Donna Shalala. I couldn't have done that without Bob! Or the time we were in Memphis together for a Tobacco Control Network meeting and on the way home, he had to stop at Graceland to pick up photos of...
