Beverly Joan King Howe passed away on Friday, February 13, 2014, at the age of 82. She was born in Dallas, Texas on June 4, 1931 to parents Azzalea Carter King Flentge and Levi Alexander King.

Beverly spent her first years in Dallas, Texas with her parents. At age three she lost her father. Beverly's mother eventually remarried Ben Flentge, and they moved to San Antonio, Texas where Beverly grew up, and graduated from Jefferson High School. Following her graduation Beverly worked for AT&T as a Teller and Service Representative. Several years later, Beverly met her future husband, Aubrey, on a blind date at Lake Dunlap near New Braunfels, Texas. Aubrey and Beverly were married only three months later on September 18, 1953.

Aubrey and Beverly completed their family when they were blessed with their two children several years after their marriage. Over the years Aubrey's work took the family to Brownsville, McAllen, back to San Antonio and eventually to Austin, Texas where they have lived for the last 40 years. Aubrey and Beverly celebrated 60 wonderful and loving years of marriage last year on September 18, 2013.

Beverly is survived by her husband of 60 years, Aubrey Louis Howe, her two children, Beverly Azzalea Howe Quarles and Allen Louis Howe, and her two grandsons, Louis Allen Howe and Thomas David Howe.

A burial service will be held at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, Texas 78209 on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at 11am. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
