Dear Family,
I just found out about Dr Guyon's passing. I worked with him very closely at Wyandotte for 5 years and he was kind enough to see my mother for treatment. I remember him spending more than two hours with her at her appointment, which was unprecedentedly generous and kind. He was an incredible doctor who taught me a great deal. My deepest condolences.

My deepest and most heartfelt sympathy goes out to Dr. Gregory Guyon's family and patients. I was shocked and could not comprehend that Dr. Guyon was actually gone when I received the phone call. I cried instantly and still fill up with tears every time I think of him and what a fantastic doctor our community has lost. I have been going to Dr. Guyon for years for pain shots and I am deathly afraid of needles. I fainted several times during my visits but eventually Dr. Guyon made me laugh through my shots even though I still yelled out, but I quit fainting! He performed miracles every day! He had the best sense of humor of any doctor I have ever known and that was so much appreciated as it put his patients at ease which is something many doctors cannot do. We have truly lost an amazing, brilliant, unique, humurous compassionate and caring doctor. The world will never be the same now that he is gone. I truly feel for his family and close friends as they are so used to having him and now he is only in their memories. I cannot express enough my grief for everyone who knew and loved him. He will be missed by all who ever knew him. Dr. Guyon, rest in peace.

I am so sorry to hear of Dr. Guyon's passing. He was truly one of a kind. A kind, compassionate and caring doctor that is so rare to find these days. We are heartbroken at the news of Dr. Gregory Guyon's passing, he was a wonderful and gifted physician. September 28, 2015

I am so sorry for your loss. Dr. Guyon and his son, Ben, saved my life. Two years ago I had a blood clot in my leg. While in the hospital, I called and left a message with Ben. (I did not know Dr. Guyon was on vacation and was not seeing patients.) Soon Dr. Guyon appeared and after looking at my situation, told me I needed surgery or I would lose my leg and/or life. He chose a great surgeon. I did not lose my leg or my life. After surgery, he got me into rehab. I was in a wheelchair for 34 years due to MS, but I can now use a walker in my home. What a wonderful outcome! He was a wonderful doctor. My family and I will miss him greatly. I am keeping Dr. Guyon's family in my prayers and pray God's richest blessings upon them.

Greg graduated from Gabriel Richard High School in 1970. It's amazing how many of his classmates benefited from his medical practice with our parents and loved ones. My family and I offer our sincere condolences at this most difficult time. I worked at Henry Ford Hospital as a medical transcriptionist. When typing a discharge summary for Dr. Guyon, it was always remarkable to see the progress that a patient (many patients) had made during his/her stay, and under the guidance of this skilled physiatrist. The world has lost a talented, gifted man. We send our prayers and thoughts to the whole Guyon family and friends. Rest in peace Dr. Gregory Guyon. You will always be fondly remembered.

October 6, 2015

My deepest sympathy goes out to Dr. Gregory Guyon's family, friends and patients. I cannot believe the world has lost such a wonderful and important doctor. I first started going to his mother, Dr. Marianne Guyon and she then had her son, Dr. Guyon come in and look at my back to see what he could do for my pain. He gave me pain shots several times which gave me relief. My back eventually got so bad due to my scoliosis, that I had to go to a back specialist. I still went with my daughter Cheryl (as her support system) when she got her shots and I was always comforted as to how sweet he was to her as she was afraid of needles and had to get 20-30 shots at one time. His humor was like no other and that made us relax right away. He was a pool of knowledge and always had answers to my questions and was current on medical issues. I cannot imagine where he found the time, but he did. He will be missed tremendously by family, friends, and patients. I cannot think of any doctor that will ever be able to fill his shoes and help those in pain like Dr. Guyon did. He was truly a gift to the world! May his family take comfort in knowing that he was more important and loved than any other doctor/man in our community. May he rest in peace.

My prayers are with you and always will be! Dr. Greg, was a remarkable and unique man as well as physician! He had such a thirst for life and medicine. When he passed away he took a piece of me with him also. Our Loss is Heavens Gain! I promise never to forget you Nancy, Ben and the rest of your brothers, sisters and grandchildren Julia and James!

For over a decade I was a patient of Dr.Maryann. When she retired, I started seeing Dr. Greg. I was nervous, because I had grown such a trust and a wonderful rapport with Dr.Maryann. In no time I knew that he was amazing. He was such a caring and compassionate doctor, I felt like I had been seeing him for over a decade as well. He really listened to me and truly did everything he could to help me and always made me laugh in the process. I will miss him terribly and the world lost a great man. I am truly devastated and heartbroken to hear of Dr. Gregory Guyon's passing, today. He was a truly remarkable man and a wonderful and talented doctor. He treated my daughter and beyond attending to her condition so expertly, he also lifted her spirits. Mine too. He took the time to explain procedures and always tried to make her feel at ease, even made us laugh. I will so miss that robust laugh of his and that irreverent sense of humor. There will truly never be another like him and I feel a tremendous sense of loss at his passing.
To Ben and Dr. Mary Anne, I am praying for peace and strength for you and your family during this time of sorrow. May you find some small bit of comfort to know that so many lives were touched, bettered and saved because of who he was and the hard work he chose. May your hearts that will always carry his memory be also filled with pride.
Rest in Peace, dear Dr. Guyon. Your time on this earth was one of incredible importance and service. A life well lived. You will be deeply missed by many.

We are greatly grieved to hear of Greg's passing. We were friends with Greg and Nancy for many decades. His courage and determination to become a doctor made him a super hero in my book. The years of sacrifice they made is the measure of a strong and dedicated marriage. The loss to his wife and children is immeasurable. No words can soothe the pain of such a premature loss.

As I read all of these wonderful tributes and caring thoughts, I'm reminded of the dish of seashells in my bathroom: Something died, but something beautiful remains. We are so sorry for your loss. When all you have left are beautiful memories, they become treasures. Draw comfort from your treasures. I never had the honor of meeting Dr. Greg, but I know his daughter Rebekka and want her and her family to know we are lifting them up in our hearts, thoughts and prayers. God bless you all.

I am so sorry to hear of Dr. Guyon's passing. My prayers go out to his family and friends. I have known the Guyon's for many years as the accounting manager at his Accountant's office. When my son passed away unexpectedly in March 2010 (at 20 yrs old) Greg and Nancy came to the visitation. Greg gave me a coin that he always carried around with him, or that he cherished, in honor of my son. I was so honored that they came to my son's visitation, as we were business associates, not personal friends, however, over the years, I have become closer to Nancy and love her sense of humor. My sincere condolences.

September 29, 2015

I am so deeply saddened for all the sorrow that Dr. Guyon's family is experiencing right now. Those family members I knew from visiting his office, obviously had a deep respect and love for him, which was telling of his excellent roll as a father. Likewise, he always seemed to love talking about his wife and children during the appointments with such pride and love for them. As my physician for more than 10 years, I have known him to be one of the most caring and generous doctors I've ever known. I know he always had my best interest in mind and fully trusted his expertise. I, along with so many people he touched the lives of, am going to miss this wonderful person we had the privilege of knowing.

September 29, 2015

What a compassionate, good and caring man. As his patient I found great comfort in his humor and commitment to healing. Somehow the pictures of comic-figures on his bandaids made me feel better. His passing has made me feel like I have been robbed. How can this be? I will pray for strength, courage and love to come to his family and friends. Rest in Peace Dr. Guyon.

September 28, 2015

I remember showing up for my first day of residency in June 2010 scared out of my mind... Fortunately, I was lucky enough to spend the next month with a wonderful attending, Dr. Greg Guyon, in my Physical Med & Rehab rotation. During that time I also got to know his wonderful family and office family.

Dr. Guyon was a great physician, teacher, and person. Every day I saw the difference he made in patients' lives. He taught me to always think of the patient's home environment, as just because they were strong enough to fully weight bear on their foot, did not mean this was safe in their current home environment. I still think of that advice daily in my practice. I am a better physician because of Dr. Guyon.

While Dr. Guyon taught me a lot as a physician during my rotation, even more importantly, he, his family, and the rest of his office family, treated me with such kindness over the next 3 years of my residency. It could have been a very sad and lonely 3 years, as I was so far from all my family and friends. But the Guyon's always made me feel welcome and at home. I am so lucky I met Dr. Guyon on my first day of residency, and not on one of my last days there.

Thinking of his wonderful family, Nancy, Dr. Maryann, Ben, and the rest of his children during this tough time. He will be missed by many.

Dear Guyon Family
We have gotten to know your dearly beloved husband, father and grandfather through his wonderful brother Paul, with whom we have been fortunate enough to spend the past 6 months as part of the Christ Renews His Parish programs here in Traverse City. Paul has inspired us with his love for the Blessed Virgin Mary and dedication to the Divine Mercy Chaplet which he practices and has taught us to sincerely appreciate. Please know that on behalf of the 60 men whose lives have been directly benefited through Paul's discipleship, your family will be held up in prayers through your time of loss and grief. May the God of our fathers and His loving Son Jesus bring you the strength and peace through the Holy Spirit to ease your suffering and pain. Keep Believing!!! Pat Heintz.

Our thoughts and prayers to the Guyon Family. He was the only Dr that has ever helped my husband with the pain in his back. He was dedicated to helping those in need and was very good at it. Our family will miss him very much.
