Margaret A. "Peg" (Peck) Mayer

Margaret A. "Peg" (Peck) Mayer, of Waltham formerly of Newton, passed away on Oct 26, 2015. She was 95. Peg was born in Whitney Point, NY and raised in Warrensburg, NY and graduated from Syracuse University in 1942. She moved to Newton where she and her husband raised their family. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Newton, she was fond of traveling especially with good friends Frank and Barbara Sinatra, following her favorite Boston sports teams appreciating poetry and fine literature, and enjoying time with friends. Peg was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth M. "Ken" Mayer, the loving mother of Diane S. Mayer of Uncasville CT, Robert P. Mayer and his wife Carolyn of Waltham and Paul J. Mayer and his wife Toni of Lisbon CT and the late Michael David Mayer, and grandmother of Christopher R. and Samuel K. Mayer. She was the sister of the late Dwight, Paul, William and Lucille Peck. Her funeral service will be held on Thurs Oct 29 at 11 AM in the Eaton & Mackay Funeral Home 465 Centre St. Newton Corner followed by interment in Newton Cemetery. A visiting hour will precede the service beginning at 10. In lieu of flowers, a donation in memory of Peg to the Jimmy Fund c/o Dana-Farber Cancer Institute P.O.
