Jon "Big Jon" Hansen

Jon Henri Hansen "Big Jon", 71, of Perry, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2015, at Methodist Hospital. Jon's wishes were to be cremated. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 3, 2015, at Carson – Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden. Rev. Gary Hoyt will officiate. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden. For online obituaries and condolences please visit: www.carsonstappfuneral.com Jon Henri Hansen was born on June 17, 1944, in Perry, Iowa, the only child of John and Verva (Meier) Hansen. He was a graduate of the Perry High School class of 1961. He attended college at Florida Atlantic University where he received his Masters Degree. On June 26, 1971, Jon was united in marriage to Linda Jackson. The couple lived on their family's Century Farm in Perry where they raised their two daughters. He retired from Financial Information Trust in 1999 as a Senior Director of Technical Support. Jon enjoyed hunting and fishing in his free time and was a member of Pheasants Forever and Ducks Unlimited. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Linda Hansen of Perry, Iowa; two daughters, Stephanie (Jeff) Barnard of Perry, Iowa, and Crystal (Ben Waters) Hansen of Des Moines, Iowa; three grandchildren, Skylar, Hunter, and Samantha. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
