I knew Sharon and Mike before they met and I know the Hatch boys and the Seidl boys also since I had coach both with Mike and against him through out the years. The way Mike loved Sharon and all 5 boys was something special. My favorite memory was a game I coached against Mike with his son umpiring. And for some reason he was down in the dirt and his son and I were just laughing.

I'm was so sorry to hear about Mike and my condolences go out to his entire family. Mike was the main reason I pledged Delt in 1973. I always loved running into Mike because, just like he treated everyone, he was always happy to see me and he always had a smile on his face. Just a great, great person!!!

Because of something Mike said to me one day in 1989, in his inimitable way, he got my attention, and I am alive today to write this farewell of gratitude. Thank you, Mike, thank you.

We did not get to know Mike well, as he started his battle with cancer shortly after we moved here. However, he made a great impression on us with every encounter. He kept at true good humor's mark, the social flow of pleasure's tide: He never made a brow look dark, nor caused a tear, but when he died. Thomas Love Peacock.
Mike will live on through his sons and the legacy he left in the hearts of so many. Our condolences go out to his beloved family.

We are so sorry to hear about Mike's passing. He was such a wonderful guy! His love for Sharon and the boys was such a great tribute to the man he was. They were always happy and smiling - enjoying life. We remember Mike fondly during one Cub Scout camping trip he took Martin on to Goose Island by Rockport. The mosquitos were so bad and had swarmed into their tent since someone left the zipper open. You could hear them swatting and laughing trying to get all of the mosquitos. They finally slept in the car & ended up leaving the tent in the trash can. It was a weekend full of laughs and fun! Our thoughts and prayers go out to Sharon and the boys. May God comfort you all. Keep wonderful memories close to your heart. Hugs

Mike was more than a friend to me. A mentor and teacher who was always there when I called. He taught me so much and changed my life for the better. He was as honest with me about everything and told me the truth even when it hurt. I will miss our weekly phone conversations and the times he came to visit me in Lubbock. I know he is in a better place and free from pain which gives me strength which is what Mike always gave me. There will never be another like him but we can try because he has shown the way.

Mike Hatch was BIGGER than life and lived every moment to its fullest. He had the uncanny ability to touch every life he came into contact with...one of God's angels who walked here among us on earth. We all feel cheated because he has been taken from us so soon, but God must have a BIGGER mission in heaven for him. He accomplished more than 100 people could accomplish in a lifetime. I loved him and will always cherish him for the difference he has made in my life.
