David Stephen Fusco

David Stephen Fusco, 60, of Preston, beloved husband of Nolita Mae Taylor-Fusco, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 29, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield, MA. Born in Hartford on August 3, 1955, son of the late Victor C. and Marie (LaBounty) Fusco, he was raised in Windsor and had lived in Vernon and East Hartford before moving to Preston two years ago. David worked for many years as an owner/operator in the trucking industry. He loved animals, especially his labs, Dakota and Jake and his late black lab, Midnight. David collected model cars and was especially fond of hotrods and vintage cars. He enjoyed attending classic car shows and had planned on buying his own some day. Besides his wife, he leaves a son, David Joseph Fusco and his significant other, Janet Lynn Taylor of Preston; two stepsons, Jimi Hamn of Preston and Joshua Hamn of Albany, NY; a stepdaughter, Billie Jo Springmann and her husband JD of Vernon; three brothers, Victor Fusco of Newport, RI, James Fusco and his wife Donna of Longs, SC, and Peter Fusco of Middletown; two sisters, Michele Fusco and Marlene Fusco both of Enfield; four grandchildren, Christopher James Fusco, Emilee Grace Fusco, Samantha Boucher, and Brooke Hamn; three nephews; five nieces; a cousin who adored him, Deede Stoner; and many other relatives and friends. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his first wife, Susan Ann (Lutton) Fusco; and a brother, Michael Fusco. His family will receive friends on Thursday, March 3, 4-7 p.m., at The Lodge Community Chapel, 130 Deerfield Rd., Windsor. Family and friends may gather on Friday, March 4, 10 a.m., at The Lodge Community Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 a.m., at St. Gabriel Church, Windsor. Burial will be private. David's family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
