Mikel Wayne Long was born December 7, 1951 in Dallas, TX and passed away April 25, 2010. He lived most of his life in Mesquite, TX and the last seven years in Forney. Survived by wife, Carol Long, Forney, TX ; daughters, Dorothy Long & fiancÃ©, Mark Guillen, Forney, TX, Wendy Peters & husband Tracy, Royse City, TX and Kari Stephens, Mabank, TX; grandchildren, Emma Ann Long, Travis Peters, Taylor Peters and Mason Stephens; sister-in-law, Margo Monsour, Cottage Grove, MN. Preceded in death by parents, Elvis A. Long and Helen Cantrell Long, brother, Ray Long and sister-in-law, Judy Ann Arisman. Memorial service 2:00 P.M. Thursday, April 29, 2010 at Roselawn Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to American Heart Assoc., 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231.

Its ironic Mikel that the last time I saw you, you were standing next to me onstage in about 1969. For some reason we never stayed in touch. I have asked several of our band mates what happened to you. I hope you had a happy life my friend. Another piece of the mystery solved. RIP Mikel!
