Ollie Conn

Mr. Ollie Conn of Niles, passed away at 3:50 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2010 in the emergency room of St. Joseph Health Center in Warren after becoming stricken at home. He was 77 years old. Mr. Conn was born in Elliotville, KY the son of the late Frank and Edna (Jones) Conn and came to Ohio in 1965. Mr. Conn retired in March 2000 from Esco Aluminum in Girard where he worked as a lineman and saw helper. He enjoyed daily walks to the McDonald's in McKinley Heights and sharing a cup of coffee with friends. He also enjoyed walking and sharing a story with his friends and people in general. Mr. Conn is survived by his wife of 51 years the former Kathleen Buckler, whom he married on June 20, 1959. He also leaves behind two children Joyce N. (Larry) Fickes of Niles and Jeffrey Eugene Conn of the home; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a twin brother Hollie Conn; brothers Eugene, Roy and Connoy Conn; and two sisters Lillian Conn and Jane Chambers. Calling hours for Mr. Conn will take place on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 from 5 until 7 p.m. in the Lane Funeral Home Niles Chapel, 415 Robbins Ave, Niles, Ohio, 44446. A Funeral Service with Pastor Starkey Gilliam will take place on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Niles City Cemetery.
