She leaves her parents, Dr. Joseph B. and Helen M. (Peter) Cocozzella of Holden; two brothers, Dr. Joseph M. Cocozzella of Worcester and Michael P. Cocozzella of Holden; her maternal grandmother, Helen M. Peter of Worcester; aunts, uncles and cousins. She was born in Worcester and lived in Holden all her life.
Lisa was a student at Cornell University School of Law and graduated from Mount Holyoke College where she earned her degrees in Computer science and English literature. She was also a graduate of the Bancroft School in Worcester. Lisa was an avid marathon runner, published poet and lover of animals including Storm, Rose, Dodger, Caesar, Baci and Burt.
The funeral will be held on Saturday Nov. 20 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., Worcester with a Mass at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 24 Mulberry St., Worcester. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours are Friday Nov. 19 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lisa's memory may be made to Fr. DiOrio's Healing Apostolate, P.O. Box 668, Worcester, 01613.
