Kenneth Gene Smock

Kenneth Gene Smock 62, New Palestine, died March 4, 2004. He was born in Beech Grove, IN on February 22, 1942. Gene was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He had been an employee at the Ford Motor Company since 1961, most recently as a supervisor. Gene also served as a Marion County deputy sheriff, and was a certified scuba diver and EMT. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Francis Smock, and son, Kenneth Gregory Smock. His survivors include his wife, Catherine (Layman) Smock; children, Dawn Dodd (Greg), Jennifer Graveel (Michael), Tammy Gillespie (John); mother, Thelma Branam; brothers, Gordon Smock (Donetta) and Johnny Jones (Mary); grandchildren, Nicole, Amanda and Samantha Dixon, Jacob, Dharma, Jenna and Hannah Dodd, Evan and Nicholas Graveel, Alexis, Anna-Catherine and John Gillespie. Services will be at 10 a.m., Monday, March 8, 2004 at Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Center - Washington Park East. Visitation will be Sunday evening, March 7, 2004 from 3 to 8 p.m. at the funeral center. Burial: New Palestine Cemetery.
