Helen (Donovan)Brennan, 90 of Marlborough, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010 at Mass. General Hospital, Boston, MA. Born and raised in Marlborough, she was the daughter of the late William and Eva (Boudreau) Donovan, and the wife of the late Matthew J. Brennan, Jr. Mrs. Brennan had been employed as a bookkeeper for the former First National Bank, Marlborough, until retiring in 1978. She had also worked for Trombetta’s Greenhouses, where she harvested carnations, and for Marlborough shoe manufacturers, where she met her husband. A member of the Immaculate Conception Parish, she enjoyed the company of her many friends and large extended family. She is survived by her son, Matthew J. Brennan, III, of Marlborough, her sister, Aline Mott Newton, of Clearwater, FL and York,ME, her brothers-in law, George and Robert Brennan, both of Marlborough and Robert Phaneuf, of Shrewsbury, her sisters-in-law, Dorothy McNally, Mildred McCarthy and Virginia Brennan, all of Marlborough and Doris Brennan of Estero, FL, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Raymond, William, Jr., Joseph and James Donovan, Elizabeth Phaneuf, Annette Cusson, and Marie Elliot. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, Nov. 19, 2010, at 11:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Church, Prospect Street, Marlborough, MA. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson St., Marlborough. Visiting hrs.will be held on Thursday, Nov.18, 2010, from 4-8 PM at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough. Donations may be made to, Natick Visiting Nurse Assoc., 209 W. Central St., Suite 313, Natick, MA 01760 or BayPath Elder Services, 33 Boston Post Rd., W. Marlborough, MA 01752

Mattie, So sorry to hear about your Mom. She was a great lady. She was so important to my Mom and added much to her life, especially after Dad was gone. She was the person Mom missed the most when she left her house in Marlborough. I hope your life will remain full of good things.

we still miss my aunt helen, and we visited her and she alway look happy to see the brennan kids. we remember best ( 33 CENTRAL STREET ) we lived two familes house. we had great life so she is rest peace with love katherine and sean brennan
