James P. Gavin

James P. Gavin, 56, formerly of Wildwood N.J. and Swarthmore, on November 9, 2007 at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital. He was born March 1, 1951 in Darby a son of Patricia Pescatore Gavin and the late James F. Gavin. Mr. Gavin was a U.S. Army Veteran and worked as an social worker for many years. He was also very devoted to his family. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a brother Richard Gavin. In addition to his mother he is survived by three children Michele Tinney of Milmont Park, James Gavin of Milmont Park and Richard Gavin of Philadelphia; five brothers Thomas Gavin of Villas N.J., John Gavin of Wildwood N.J., Patrick Gavin of Florham Park N.J., Michael Gavin of Wildwood N.J. and Robert Gavin of Egg Harbor N.J.; three sisters Margaret Rosenello of Philadelphia, Patricia Kostuchik of Bartensville, PA and Mary Gavin of Miami FL; two grandchildren Casey and John; and his dear friend Dawn Hybiske of Wildwood N.J. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation Tuesday after 9:15am in the Church of Notre Dame de Lourdes, Swarthmore followed by his Funeral Mass at 11am. Interment with military honors will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon. Arrangements in the care of the Cavanagh Family Funeral Home 301 Chester Pike, Norwood.
