Clint Hill

Clinton Orin Hill, the son of Orville and Cleo (Damon) Hill, was born October 6, 1942, in Clarion, Iowa. He was raised and educated in Eagle Grove and attended Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge. Clint served in the United States Navy from 1961 to 1965 - stationed in California, Japan and Rhode Island. Clint married Sandra Kay Fevold on April 26, 1963. On February 12, 1964, Clint's parents, Orville and Cleo Hill, Sandra and their unborn child died from injuries sustained in a car accident Clint married Joyce Stockdale of Eagle Grove on July 24, 1965, at Newport, Rhode Island. The couple made their home in Eagle Grove for 45 years. Clint was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church. He also served as an Eagle Scout and V.F.W. Commander. Clint worked for Corn LP - Gold Eagle Coop, Chicago N.W. Railroad, for Wright County Maintenance and as a custodian for the Clarion-Goldfield Schools. He also was a self-employed painter and did some construction. Clint passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2010, at the Rotary Ann Nursing Home in Eagle Grove, Iowa, at the age of 67 years. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Kristine Lee Hill on December 26, 1965; fathers-in-law, Leo Fevold and Thomas Stockdale, brothers-in-law, Danny Stockdale and Orin Lerdal and sister-in-law, Karen Lerdal. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Hill of Eagle Grove; three children: Michael Alan Stockdale and wife Michele of Navarre, FL, Curtis Dean Hill of Eagle Grove and Teresa (Tracy) Anne Pauls of Fort Dodge; 5 grandchildren: Taylor Rose Stockdale of Powell, WY, Tasha Nicole Hill of Eagle Grove, Quentin Jacob Hill of Eagle Grove, Tawny Nacole Pauls of Humboldt and Dillon Douglas Pauls of Fort Dodge; 2 twin great-granddaughters, Alecia Elizabeth and Sophia Marie De-la-Cruz - Hill of Eagle Grove; brothers-in-law: Eugene Stockdale and wife Linda of Fort Dodge, Robert Stockdale and wife Mary Ann of Duncombe, James Stockdale wife Jan of Cummings, Jerold Stockdale and wife Robin of North Dakota, Kenneth Stockdale and wife Pam of Mason City, David Stockdale of Milwaukee, WI, Timothy Stockdale and wife Linda of Lewisville, TX, Mark Stockdale and wife Kris of Eagle Grove, Leonard Fevold and wife Lori of Oxford and Tom Fevold and wife Lynn of Goldfield; sisters-in-law: Betty Rasmussen and husband Tony of Springfield, OR, Connie McConnell of Ankeny, Diane Terwilliger and husband Doug of Ottoson, Luann Brickei and husband Tom of Ankeny, Doris Madson of Eagle Grove, Marcia Sadler and husband Tim of Eagle Grove and Julie Kludt and husband Mark of Watertown, SD; mothers-in-law, Lucille Stockdale-Morgan of Eagle Grove and Katinka Fevold of Goldfield and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held Monday, February 15, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove with Pastor Chris Lang officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Foust Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
