Tom Hazelwood Greenville, SC William Thomas "Tom" Hazelwood, 74, devoted husband of Shirley Vaughn Hazelwood for forty-seven years, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2012, at Greenville Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Lanford, SC, he was the son of the late Louie William Hazelwood and the late Margaret Thomas Hazelwood Lister. He was reared by his grandparents the late Oscar L. and Pauline McAbee Thomas. He was also predeceased by his step-father, Bo Lister. Tom was a 1960 graduate of Clemson University and was a veteran of the U S Army. Tom was owner of Auto Service Plus for twenty-seven years. Since his retirement, he has been associated with Home Depot in Greer, SC. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church, Greer, SC, the Fayonsky-McFadden Sunday School Class and also served as an usher. Surviving in addition to his wife are two children, daughter, Lynn Boggs and her husband, Rick of Columbia, SC and a son, Mike Hazelwood and his wife, Emily of Greer, SC and four loving grandchildren: Jessica and Jamisen Boggs and Nathan and Claire Hazelwood. He is also survived by a sister, Polly Blackwell of Spartanburg, SC and two brothers, Donnie Lister of Grovetown, GA and Charles Lister of Woodruff, SC. Services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at The Mackey Mortuary Chapel with Dr. Tom Burns and Dr. Ken Kessler officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday prior to the service, from 12:30 until 1:45 PM at the mortuary. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Fairview Baptist Church for "Foundation for the Future, 1300 Locust Hill Rd., Greer, SC 29651. The family is at the home. The Mackey Mortuary.
