Carol A. Balser (nee Wallace), 63 of Sheffield Lake, went home to be with the lord surrounded by family and friends at Mercy Hospital in Lorain on Tuesday, November 20, 2012. Carol was born in Cleveland on July 25, 1949. She was a professional secretary and published author and worked for the American Cancer Society in Elyria and First Lutheran Church for many years. Carol is survived by her loving husband of Eli L.; daughter Leslie Schlak (Dan); mother Christine Vanni (nee Andrews); sisters Marlene Ray (Tommy) and Pam Yassen; nephews and nieces James, Aaron, Matthew and Michael Beasley, Brian Schultz, Paula Weston and Ashley Glowacki; granny of Delaney, Nathaniel, Daniel and Eli; best friend and cousins Dolly and Don Schultz, Sherrie Louder and Doris Jacoby; her bird Gracie and dog Callie; and many other family members and friends, too numerous to name. She is preceded in death by her father Homer Wallace. Friends may call at the Busch Funeral Home, 163 Avon Belden Road, Avon Lake from 6-9pm on Sunday, November 25. Funeral service at 11am on Monday, November 26 at Christian Heritage Assembly of God, 36465 Chester Road, Avon. Interment at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be forwarded to Christian Heritage Missionette Program, 36465 Chester Road, Avon, 44011 or God Cares Ministry, 33399 Walker Road, Suite A, Avon Lake, 44012.

I share in your saddness. I feel for you and your family. The Lord's comfort and strength will bring you through this but it takes time. Give Carol her due and then do what she would want you to do...go on. There are others who love and need you.
