Janet "Gi Gi" Lynn Snowden Jones, passed away at home in the loving care of her daughters on March 26th at the age of 68. She is now at peace after a battle with lung cancer. She was born in Charleston in 1945, the daughter of the late Alva Earl and Florence Virginia Harbert Snowden. She was widowed preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Allen Jones. Janet attended DuPont High School and was able to attend her 50th year class reunion. She was retired from the State of West Virginia Workers Compensation Division where she worked for 35 years as claims manager. She was a member of Davis Creek Church of the Nazarene. Surviving are her loving daughters, Laurie Beth Jones McNeely of Nitro and Tracie Jones of Charleston; her grandsons, Chad Allen Jones, Kaigen Riley McNeely and Brayden Allen McNeely; and granddaughter, Maggie Beth McNeely; sister, Carolyn Virginia Snowden Stanley of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and a host of nieces and nephews that she loved very much; and her lifelong friend, Diana Claudios The funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 30, 2013, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden, with Minister Frank Goff presiding. The interment will follow the service in Tyler Mountain Memorial Gardens, Coss Lanes. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2013 at the funeral home.
