Roger N. "Punch" Butler

Roger Nelson Butler "Punch" 75, of Indianapolis passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March 31, 2013. He was born March 18, 1938 in Bedford, IN to the late Jack and Florence (Harris) Butler. Roger graduated from Shortridge High School and Indiana University. Roger proudly obtained the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer and served all over the world in the United States Navy and retired after 35 years of dedicated service. Roger was a member of Masonic Prospect Lodge #714, American Legion Post #497, Fleet Reserve Association and the Navy Club USA Ship 35. He is survived by his son, Mark Butler; daughter, Linda Butler of Norfolk, VA; sisters, Monita Garner, Corraine Burford of Shelbyville, IN; grandchildren, Benjamin and Jonathan Butler, and Brittney and Danielle Bostwick. Friends may call Friday, April 5, 2013 from 10am-12pm at Flanner and Buchanan-Washington Park North 2706 Kessler Blvd West Drive Indianapolis, Indiana 46228. Funeral service will follow at noon.
