Diane G. Breit

Diane G. Breit, 79, devoted wife, mother and friend, passed away quietly on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Spang Crest Manor, Lebanon. She was the wife of Bertram M. Breit, whom she married June 19, 1955 and was by her side to the end. She was born in Lebanon, PA on June 10, 1933, daughter of the late Simon and Goldie Levin Gold. She was a graduate of The Greir School, Tyrone, PA and in 1955 she graduated from Skidmore College, Saratoga, NY. Diane was a member of Congregation Beth Israel, Lebanon, where she was active with numerous committees, the Sisterhood and Hadassah. For over 20 years she worked side by side with her husband at S&M Dress Company on Lehman St, Lebanon as supervisor of the finishing department. She had also been a substitute elementary school teacher. She is survived in addition to her husband by son, Steven L., husband of Katie A. Breit, Lititz; grandchildren, Peter Z. Breit and Julia L. Breit, Lititz. She was preceded in death on August 24, 1995 by beloved son, Peter M. Breit, from Lymphoma. Diane was a friend and confidant to many, willing to listen and provided thoughtful advice; she will be sadly missed by all. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Diane's funeral service on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at 1:30 PM from Porterfield-Scheid Funeral Directors & Cremation Services, Ltd., 890 Isabel Dr., (next to Quentin Circle), Lebanon with Rabbi Paula Reimers and Rabbi Louis Zivic officiating. Burial will be made in Beth Israel Cemetery, Lebanon. In lieu of flowers memorial remembrances in Diane's memory may be made to the Breit Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Cedar Crest High School, 115 East Evergreen Rd, Lebanon, PA 17042. Shiva will be observed 4/30, 5/1 & 5/2 at 7:00 PM in a conference room at Spang Crest Manor.
