Theodore "Ted" Pasinski

Ted Pasinski passed into eternal life on May 23, 2013 after 94 years of what he considered a gift of a wonderful life. Born and raised in Meriden, CT, he was the last of six other brothers and sisters born to Frank and Anna (Pisarz) Pasinski. Although a Depression era youth, he said he was blessed with family and friendship even in meager times. He was proud of being part winning the New England Basketball Championship in 1937. Enlisting in the Army Air Corps in 1942, he was first sent to Hancock Field where he met his love, Grace "Jean" Stein at an USO event. After his service as a Corporal in Italy with the B-24's working as a Link Trainer Operator, Ted married Jean in 1945 and had 42 great years together until her rather sudden death in 1988. Ted worked for 35 years at Sears Roebuck and Company at the Salina Street and Fayetteville stores as an Appliance Salesman where he formed lasting friendships with colleagues and was endeared to many for his great ability to "schmooze". Ted was active in assisting Lyncourt Little League, in his parish of St. John the Baptist and in retirement, with various senior citizen groups especially his beloved Sears Retirees. After Jean's death, he appreciated a special friendship with Fran Mullen with whom he had some wonderful times until her death in 2004. Ted's outgoing, other-centered personality, his simple goodness and his trust in God endeared him to many--including the wonderful staff at Iroquois Nursing Home who cared form him in his final year. He is survived by two sons, David (Geri Hall) Pasinski and Ted (Diane) Pasinski Five grandchildren, Tara and Joe Vitale, Jason, Megan, Mariah and Micah Pasinski and one great-grandson, Nico Vitale and nine loving nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on TUESDAY at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Church The Rite of Committal and burial will be immediately following the Mass in Woodlawn Cemetery Visitation will be held on MONDAY from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at St. John the Baptist Church, 406 Court Street, Syracuse Keegan-Osbelt-Knight Funeral Home, Inc. has been entrusted with the arrangements.
