Mr. Henry Ernest Bruno

Henry Ernest Bruno, age 90, of Hinckley, Ohio, beloved husband of the late Mary Ann Bruno (nee Chicwak) who passed away in January 2008; loving father of Greg Bruno, Glenna Bruno, Galen Bruno (Jean), Greta Brown (Craig), Gerald Bruno (Katie), and Gayle Gannon (Geoff); dear grandfather of Eric, Steve, Mike, Aaron, Ryan, Alex, David, Brian, Adam, Andrew, and Gabby, and great-grandfather of Lincoln, Kayla, and Colette; brother of Jim Bruno (Frances), the late Marie Hightower (Bryan, deceased), and the late Velma Straka (Joe, living). Mr. Bruno was a United States Navy veteran of World War II, having served aboard the U.S.S. Mississippi in the South Pacific from May 1943 to May 1946. He was retired from the Standard Oil Co., downtown Cleveland, where he worked for more than 30 years as a traffic analyst. He was an active longtime member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Hinckley, and was an avid gardener and member of the Brecksville Garden Club. He was also a former baseball coach and commissioner for baseball leagues in Brecksville and Hinckley. He passed away on Monday, August 19, 2013 at the Holy Family Hospice in Parma, Ohio. Prayer service at the funeral home on Friday, August 23, 2013 at 9:00 A.M. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 1088 Ridge Road, Hinckley, Ohio 44233. Interment with United States Navy honors will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Valley City, Ohio.
