Daniel Patrick Christie

Daniel Patrick Christie, 63, of Berlin, passed away on Monday, February 3, 2014 at Hartford Hospital. Born and raised in Hartford, son of the late John and Marie (Clair) Christie, he attended South Catholic High School. He spent twenty years in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, where he felt most at home before moving to Berlin in 2007. Daniel enjoyed rollerblading, and was a self-proclaimed foodie who enjoyed trying different foods from various restaurants. He loved Florida, spending time at the beach and swimming in the ocean. A beloved brother and uncle, he leaves his two sisters, Maryann Westman of Hamden and Karen Tracey of Rocky Hill, and several nieces and nephews including Susan Tracey of York, PA, Mark Tracey and his wife Lisa of Wethersfield and Kelly Gagnon and her husband Michael of Newington. He also leaves his aunt Elizabeth Riccardi of Newington, brother-in-law Thomas Frechette of Windsor Locks and his sister-in-law Kathy Christie of Berlin, and many grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by his sister Patricia Frechette and brother John Christie. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, Feb. 7th, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington. Funeral services and burial will be private.
