Louie was a great mentor to me on the Happy Committee; I had the privilege of serving as his Vice-chair. A true gentleman and generous spirit.

To the Newell family, I had the privilege of becoming friends with Louis many years ago through our mutual involvement and deep passion for Nobles. Simply put, he was the best! Always a smile, took an interest in everyone he met with a wonderful sense of humor. To my brother Andy (N'76) and me, he was and is an inspiration to us in all that he accomplished, a great friend who we will think of always.
Our best to all of you, Chip Goode N'72.

I too caddied for Louis numerous times in my youth, and he was truly one of the classiest guys I have ever met. He made a round fun for caddies and treated them with respect and as equals. Rest in Peace. You deserve it.

Mr. Newell was a positive force who made all those around him feel better. I caddied for him many times at TCC and he was always a gentleman. He was a great supporter of the Anders and Ouimet scholarships! It was a pleasure to walk down the fairways beside him. My prayers are with his family.

Emmy - I was sad to read of Louie's death . We had such fun in Dedham in the 'old' days. He was one of the 'google guys' and will be missed by all who knew him.
Much love to you,

I always enjoyed sharing our salmon fishing and local fly fishing for stripers and blues stories. Louie and I had fished some of the same fishing hot spots but unfortunately never had the opportunity to fish together. I will also treasure these great stories not only of fishing but of family forever.

It was an honor to know Louis. He was a kind friend, always interested and helpful, and optimistic. I know it was very difficult, but seemed to handle his long-standing illness with unusual grace. I will miss him. may he rest in peace.
