Mr. Cocci owned and operated his own commercial cleaning company, Cocci Cleaning Services, for 60 years.
He was active in the politics of Dedham, was a Town Meeting Member for many years, and was the Honorary Mayor at Dedham's 350th Anniversary.
Mr. Cocci was very patriotic, many times displaying the United States Flag. He was a former member of American Legion Post 18 and a member of the Honor Guard. He was also a member of the USS LCI National Association and the Disabled American Veterans.
He was an avid football and baseball fan; and enjoyed old movies and cooking. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Beloved husband of Barbara A. (Butler) Cocci. Loving father of Ann M. Cocci of Salem, Charles J. Cocci and Sue Lane of Brockton, Barbara L. Cocci and Jane Cotter of Dedham, Christina F. Cocci of Walpole, Joseph B. Cocci of Dedham, Paul P. Cocci of Dedham, Jeanne H. Campbell of Dedham, Sandra E. Fitzgerald of Walpole, and Sara E. Carter and Jeffrey Carter of Millis. Cherished grandfather of Peter, Tessa, Kevin, Christie, Katherine, Joanna, Cara, Scott, and Sunny and great grandfather of Nicholas, Collin, and Braiden. Brother of Josephine Morelli of Dedham, Frances Siletti of Dedham, the late Michael, Jennie, Pietro, Peter Cocci, and Mary Kaiden. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church East Street (Route 27) at Diamond Street Walpole on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at 9:00 AM. Visiting hours are Tuesday, January 5, 2010 from 4-8PM at James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment will be in Brookdale Cemetery in Dedham.
