Rudy Lopez Puzon passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2013. Born in San Antonio, Texas, on June 9, 1929, he resided here his entire life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving nine years of active and reserve duty. Following an extensive 39 year career with the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas - San Antonio Branch, Rudy retired in 1990. He settled into his retirement years taking care of his family and home, working on various hobbies, and never missing a Spurs or Dallas Cowboys game on television. He remained a faithful member of St. Luke's Catholic Church. Mr. Puzon was a loving husband, caring father, devoted grandfather and proud great grandfather leaving many fond memories with those who loved him. He could strike up a friendly conversation with anyone he met and always showed genuine interest in what his new acquaintances had to say. Above all, he was always willing to help anyone in need. His family and anyone who knew Rudy will truly miss him. Mr. Puzon was preceded in death by his parents Rosa Lopez and Tiburcio Puzon. He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Margaret Puente Puzon; children, Sylvia Puzon Cantu and husband, John of Houston, TX, Randy Puzon and wife, Carol, Michael Puzon, and Gilbert (Gibbe) Puzon; five grandchildren, Aaron Ortiz and wife, Erin of Tyler, TX, Jennifer Puzon, Gilbert Puzon, Jr., Dalton Puzon and Kaitlyn Puzon; two great-grandchildren, Justin Ortiz and Olivia Ortiz; sister, Rose Mary Ramos; sisters-in-law: Josephine Cavazos, Gabriela Fewox, and Beva Puente; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. The family wishes to thank Dr. Stephen Kalter and his staff at the START Center for Cancer Care for the wonderful care and compassion shown to Mr. Puzon during his illness. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 23, 2013, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Porter Loring on McCullough. ROSARY THURSDAY MAY 23, 2013 7:00 P.M. PORTER LORING CHAPEL MASS FRIDAY MAY 24, 2013 10:00 A.M. ST. LUKE'S CATHOLIC CHURCH 4603 MANITOU Interment will follow at San Fernando Cemetery No. II

I'm so sorry to hear Mr. Rudy passed away. Your orbituary described him perfectly. I moved into his neighborhood a little over a year ago and Mr. Rudy was the first to welcome me. He even let me borrow his phone when I locked myself out of the house. I'll miss his friendly wave and smile. My God bring peace to the Puzon family during this time of loss and may joyful memories of Mr. Rudy live on in their hearts and souls.
