Wilma M. Appel

Wilma M. Appel, 79, of Avon Lake, formerly of Rocky River, passed away Monday, April 18, 2016 at the Main Street Care Center, Avon Lake, OH. She was born May 30, 1936 in Claridge, PA. Wilma worked as a waitress for 45 years, most notably at Minerva's Family Restaurant in Rocky River. She was a member of St. Joseph Church, Avon Lake. She enjoyed reading, playing Bingo and helping others. Wilma is the beloved mother of Sue Acklin of Cleveland, Cindy Allen (Chris) of Avon Lake and Jonathan Appel (Dohee Kim-Appel) of Bloomville. She is also the loving grandmother of Kathleen Allen and David Acklin and dear great-grandmother of Michael Acklin and Allison Acklin. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Wilma's name may be made to New Life Hospice, 3500 Kolbe Rd., Lorain, OH 44053. Friends may call at the Busch Funeral Home on Sunday, April 24 from 1-2pm, 163 Avon-Belden Rd., Avon Lake. A memorial service will be held following the visitation at 2pm at the funeral home.
