Ronald Fuller Obituary

Published by Williams Funeral Home of Chilhowie on Jun. 2, 2016.
I, Ronald Henry Fuller Sr., was the first child born to Frank Fuller Sr. & Kitty Fuller on September 14, 1935 in Clinchco, VA. I was followed in order by Lois Fuller Hayes, of Abingdon, Peggy Fuller Yates, of Clintwood, Frank Charles Fuller Jr., of Jacksonville, AL, and Dorothy Fuller Burns, of Dallas, TX. I graduated valedictorian of Dickenson Memorial High School in 1954. I graduated in the pioneer class of Clinch Valley College, now UVA Wise. My Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering was completed at the University of Virginia in 1960. While working in Charleston, West Virginia, I met the love of my life, Carole Lee Baria. We eloped to Las Vegas the weekend after I paid off my car in 1964. My employment career was spent in Southern California. Carole and I raised our two children in Anaheim, CA. My oldest, Ronald Fuller Jr., currently lives in Galax, VA with his wife, Shirley. My baby girl, Raechelle Lynn Ivy, lives in Midlothian, TX with her husband, Jason. Ron Jr. gave Carole and me two beautiful granddaughters, Briana Wittmann & Stephanie Prisbrey. Raechelle and Jason gave us our grandson, Holden James Ivy. I love my children and my grandchildren, but between you and me, Ellis and Brooklyn, our great-grandchildren are my favorite. The rest is the future. "Sure do love you". I'll be on the riverbank fishing with Uncle Boo waiting for you. And, Carole, "I love you the most." My family and friends will gather to celebrate my life Wednesday, June 8 @ 7:00 PM at Woodland Baptist Church on Woodland Hills Road in Abingdon, VA. Visitation with the family will begin at 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to Feeding America of Southwest Virginia. Condolences can be made to the family online at www.williamsfuneralhomeofchilhowie.com . Williams Funeral Home of Chilhowie is serving the Fuller Family.

I will never forget Ronald. They were our neighbors in Clinchco in the 1940's.
Ronald delivered the GRIT paper and had a bicycle. Some of us kids would
beg Ronald to let us deliver his papers, so we could ride his bicycle. He was
a very smart, friendly neighbor and classmate.
His father, Frank used to tease me about my freckles He told me to go get some
"stump water" and rub it all over my face and arms and it would take them
away. After a few days, I knew I had "been had." ha ha I went to their house
and Mr. Fuller was sitting in the swing and had the paper up over his face.
I just said to him "Frank Fuller, I hate you. I could see he was laughing because
the paper was shaking. After thinking about it, he was trying to teach me a
lesson. LEARN TO LIKE MY FRECKLES!! Mrs. Fuller made the most wonderful
mints in the world. She would always share with us kids. They were wonderful
people and the best neighbors. A LOT OF WONDERFUL MEMORIES.

Ronald Henry Fuller was a class above all others as Luke 2:52 indicates. I will always remember him getting up early with Carol to feed the poor just like Jesus. What a legacy my dearest friend Ronnie leaves.

Ronald was a childhood neighbor in Clinchco, Va. We lived at Power House
Row. Ronald delivered the "Grit" paper in the neighborhood. Some of us
kids would go and tell him we would deliver his papers if we could ride
his bicycle. He would usually do so. We attended the same school at Clinchco.
Ronald was very intelligent and did well in everything he did. He was so
faithful to come to the Clinchco reunion. His son would always bring him.
and he was very nice and everyone like to talk to him. I will always remember
Ronald as a dear friend. His mother and father were wonderful neighbors.
His mother made wonderful mints and Frank always teased me about how
to get rid of all the freckles on my face. Such wonderful memories.
We will miss Ronald!! May God bless each family member, Our prayers
are with you.
Sincerely,
Anita Artrip

Carole I am so sorry for the loss of your soul mate Ronalf Fuller, my first cousin. I did not get to know you very well or be around Ronald much either because he had left for College when I was very young. I did think it was great that I had a cousin who lived in California. I pray God will give you, your children and grandchildren, Lois, Peggy, Frank Charles, and Dorothy the strength you need. Carole I know that you are a strong religious person who knows that Ronald is suffering no more. He is in a better place with all our loved ones who have gone on before us. Love and prayers to all.
