Linda E. Murray

Linda E. Murray AKA Auntie Pet, 88, of Bloomfield and formerly of Hartford, passed away peacefully on Sunday June 26, 2016. She was born February 25, 1928 in Mandeville, Manchester, Jamaica West Indies to the late William G. and Ruth (Miller) Murray. Linda came to the United States in 1981 and lived in Hartford before recently moving to Bloomfield. Linda worked as a laundry manager in Jamaica and as a private nanny here in the US. She was a very hard working, kind hearted, generous and loving lady who will be greatly missed. Linda is survived by her children; Raymond Hylton, Marva Channer-Gordon, Walderman Channer, Betty Channer-Sappleton, Melody Colquhoune, Paula Fletcher, Karen Edwards-King, Roy Edwards, Dean Edwards, Bridgette Ellington and Tena Williams. She is also survived by her brother Llewelyn Lyons in Jamaica, 40 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren as well as son-in-laws, daughter-in-laws, many nieces and nephews and friends. She was predeceased by sons Burnette and Errol Channer. The family would like to thank the staff from Touchpoints of Bloomfield for their wonderful care of their mother. A home going Celebration will be held on Saturday July 9th, 11 am at the Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave in Windsor. Her family will receive friends from 10 to 11 am prior to the service. Linda's final resting place will be in Mandeville, Jamaica West Indies.
