Paul H. Key, 90 of Robbins passed away peacefully July 11, 2016 at home surrounded by his family. Graveside services will be held 11 AM, Friday, July 15, 2016 at Tabernacle United Methodist Church Cemetery, with Military Honors. Following the service the family will receive friends in the Robbins First Wesleyan Church fellowship hall. He was preceded in death by his parents W.H. and Thelma Key, brothers Billy and Leroy Key. Paul is survived by his wife of 72 years, Almeta, sister Virginia Trueblood of Cameron, sisters-in-law Betty Key of Robbins, Marie Key of Robbins, children Paul H. Key (Ada) of Burgaw, NC, Larry Key of High Falls, Carolyn Lemonds (E.L.) of Seagrove, NC, Debbie Ritter (Mack) of Robbins, and Paula Key of Raeford, NC. He was also the proud Pa-Pa of four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson and numerous nieces and nephews. Paul served his country in the U.S. Navy, during WWII, on the U.S.S Telfair and received a Purple Heart. After he left the Navy, Paul was self-employed for the rest of his life. Some of his ventures included electrical work, heating & air conditioning and refrigeration. He never failed to lend a helping hand to someone in need, and was an active member of the V.F.W. in Robbins. He was a member of First Wesleyan Church. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of First Health Hospice for all of their hard work and caring service during the last year. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to FirstHealth Hospice, 150 Applecross Road, Pinehurst NC 28374.
