Barbara Drane Fake

Barbara Drane Fake was born April 16, 1926 in Holdenville, Oklahoma, the youngest of five siblings of the late Hugh Nelson Drane and Jane Velour Humphrey Drane. Barbara passed away Friday, August 12, 2016 in Helotes, Texas. She was a polio survivor, however, she never let that stop her from enjoying a full life. Traveling, bridge, genealogy were her lifetime passions, along with being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. At the time of her death, she was still playing bridge with her high school friends. She traveled extensively through Europe with England being her favorite destination. She enjoyed trips to the Big Bend National Park where she rock hunted extensively and also took a raft trip down the Rio Grande. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 44 years, Charles W. Fake, Jr.; daughter, Shannon Fake Trompeter and her siblings. She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Susan Fake and Carolyn Fake Tankersley and husband, James Tankersley; grandchildren, Charles Fake Tankersley and wife, Daphney and Randle Tankersley and wife, Jessica; great grandchildren, Graham Tankersley, Birdie Tankersley, Jackson Tankersley and Lula Tankersley; daughter-in-law, Shehernavaz Pundole; numerous nieces and nephews; companion and caretaker for over 40 years, Juanita Gomez.
