Rosalie Tucceri Obituary

Published by Eaton Funeral Home on Dec. 16, 2016.
Rosalie Ulman (Conti)Tucceri "Dede" of Needham, Massachusetts passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by family on Friday, December 16th. Rosalie was born in Naples, Italy where she grew up with her five sisters and brother. She was the beloved wife of the late Angelo Tucceri, Jr. She married in 1962. While in Italy, she worked as a seamstress, and spent most of her time enjoying the sea coast with her sisters, brother, uncles, aunts and many cousins. Rosalie came to the United States in 1944. She lived in Needham, MA for the remainder of her life. She worked at RCA, American Can Company, Maugus Manufacturing Company (where she met her husband, Angelo), and finally as a Food Services Manager at Pollard Middle School in the Needham Public School System. She worked there for 28 years. She was loved by many students, faculty and fellow employees at the school. Students loved how they were rewarded with extra food when they scored a goal, touchdown, starred in a play or performed well on a test. She was very involved in the Needham community. She was an active member of St. Joseph's Parish and would often volunteer by singing at weddings and other events. She also volunteered for Meals on Wheels, where she and her friends prepared and delivered food to the elderly. Additionally, she coordinated the Hobby Group, where she and the group made crafts for the elderly in Needham and surrounding towns. Her hobbies included crocheting, knitting, bird watching, and above all, attending her grandchildren's sporting events and dance recitals. She lived for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rosalie enjoyed her summer vacations in Machias, Maine and winter vacations in West Palm Beach, Florida. She loved staying in touch with her family in Italy. The beloved wife of the late Angelo Tucceri, Jr., she is survived, adored and loved dearly by her children, Michael and Marcia Tocci of Gilford, NH; Pamela and Mark DiGiantommaso of Plainville; and Paul and Sharyn Tucceri of Westwood. Cherished grandmother of Kim Barisano, Tom and Colleen Tocci and Nicole and Michael Toto; Brian Tocci and Janna and Doug Pitman; Derek, Julia and Colleen Tucceri. Dear sister of Josephine and Richard Vellucci of Millersville, PA. Also survived by 14 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews in the United States and Italy. Visiting hours will be held in the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave, Needham, on Tuesday, December 20th from 4-7PM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Joseph Church on Wednesday at 10 AM. Interment will follow St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.

Pam and Paul

Sorry to read about your mom.
She always had a big hug for me when I went back for a visit to Pollard, and then send me home with a huge doggie bag of leftovers. She was one of a kind!

To Rosalie's family-

Your mom was an absolute delight! Always a kind word, cheerful, loving, hospitable and an amazing cook! Time with Rosalie was always well spent and such a blessing to me. I love and miss her along with you and I look forward to being in heaven with her again someday.

I'm picturing her at the banquet table in heaven watching Chick, the cookie man, enjoying his favorite cookieS.

You are in my heart, Tracy

Dear Pam, Mark and family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time. Please know we are here to help in anyway.

We were so blessed a few months ago to have a lovely lunch with you, your mother, our mother and aunts. It was so much fun going down memory lane and taking about recipes. We all truly enjoyed the company of Rosalie and will cherish that day and its memories.

Lots of love, thoughts and prayers,
Mike, Paula, Mia and Dominic

I first met Rosalie when I was a student at Pollard. Being a friend of Paul's I was one of the the lucky recipients of extra food during lunch. She was always welcoming and friendly when we visited the house and if food was being served you were always included. Please accept my condolences, but know also she was greatly loved by all who knew her. She will be missed but not forgotten.

Auntie Rosalie was passionate in everything she did. Her devotion in her life was to her family; she was the most loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend that you could imagine. She impacted so many lives and will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all.
