Margaret Trieschmann Obituary

Published by Porter Loring Mortuary McCullough on Jan. 20, 2017.
Margaret Stark "Peggy" Trieschmann, 89, of San Antonio, Texas passed away on January 20, 2017 surrounded by family who loved her. She was born October 5, 1927 to Virginia Rutledge and J.K. Stark in Waco, Texas. She attended Alamo Heights Schools and graduated from the University of Texas, where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority. In 1977, she married the love of her life, William Frederick "T. Willy" Trieschmann, who passed away in 2015. She is survived by her daughters, Susan Saunders and Margaret Patterson and her husband, Bob; son, John T. Saunders, Jr. and his wife, Laurie; step-daughters, Terry Bacon and her husband, Dan and Linda Hill and her husband, Herb; fourteen grandchildren: Sandi, Chad, Clay, Jennifer, Cameron, John, Trenton, Christina, Stuart, Gracie, Spencer, Will, Josephine, and Maggie, and ten great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Suzanne McCandless and her husband, Bill and Ginger Blaylock and her husband, Tom. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, known as "Tita" to her grandchildren. She loved her time in Port Aransas and traveled the world collecting oceans. She was also a lifetime lover of the arts – museums, symphonies, Broadway musicals, the opera, and poetry, which she loved to write herself. Here is an excerpt from a poem she wrote for T. Willy: "I'm thankful for the love and the life I live, with all the joys that life can give; And I find that I want life to go on and on until all of life's "summer" has gone, But not without you. It's true." The family would like to thank all the caregivers that have looked after the Trieschmann's for the last five years, especially Laura Gomez. Celebration of Peggy's Life Sunday, January 22nd 4:00PM The Argyle Club 934 Patterson Avenue In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to her beloved Charity Ball Association of San Antonio whose address is P.O. Box 6078, San Antonio, Texas, 78209.

So sad to here about Peggy's passing. I know she is celebrating in the arms of her beloved. I fondly remember all of our families getting together at Port Aransas. I am still enjoying time at the beach too. Think of your family often.

What great memories the Smith family has of all the fun times we had with the Saunders/Trieschmann family. Well always chetish the times that we all gathered after church and I would be in charge of "Ita". Then those fun Christmas parties that Peggy hosted. Her fudge is still the best I ever had. We will miss these beautiful "greatest generation" parents, but how lucky we were to have such wonderful ones!
Much love and sympathy. Shellie Smith Yokum
