Alice Constance Bruce (nee Yessler), 87, of Lakewood passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Ames Hospice House after a 10 year battle with cancer. Alice was born on November 16, 1929 in Cleveland to parents Victor and Mildred (nee Ayorai). Alice started as a waitress and moved to hostess at the Theatrical Grill in Cleveland. In her nearly 40 years there, it was nothing for her to serve a table of politicians and move seemlessly to a table inhabited by Cleveland's notorious Shondor Birns. Tips for the brunette who resembles Elizabeth Taylor came from Gene Krupa, Dick Goddard and any number of local and national celebrities. Alice was always dressed to the nines. Leopard, rhinestones and bright colors were her passion, bought from Home Shopping, QVC or the best stores at the January after Christmas sales. She enjoyed playing cards with her lady friends. These women were her dear friends, playing once a month for years, making up their own extraordinary games and talking a mile a minute. But if you really wanted to see her face light up take her to the Hard Rock Rocksino or the Jack. She touched so many lives; from working with the public to being a caregiver for elderly friends and family. Alice was a brassy, sassy, smart-assy woman who spoke her mind, but had a heart as big as her beehive hairdo and a laugh that everyone can still hear. Alice is survived by her children, Harold Phillips (Sue), Lynda Walkerly (Barb Fryman), Cynthia Webb (John), and Pamela Mazzarella (Marc); grandchildren Chris, Sara, Adam, Terry, Brian, Shawn, John, Carli, and Philip; great-grandchildren Jacob, Carter, Autumn, Taryn, Dylan, Isabella, Austin, Ben, Maren, Harper, and Laila; sisters Louise Miklus (Jack) and Debby Capiccioni; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom; her parents, and her brothers Ben, Tom, and Victor. A memorial service will be Saturday, March 11 at the Busch Funeral Home, 7501 Ridge Rd., Parma at 1:00pm. A reception will follow. Memorial Contributions may be forwarded to Hospice of the Western Reserve, Ames Hospice House, 30080 Hospice Way, Westlake, OH 44145 or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Northern Ohio Chapter, 23297 Commerce Park Rd., Cleveland, OH 44122

The casinos here make you feel like you're in a game of Molopoly!
They never built the Phase Two casinos, like they promised either!
Say "Hi" to the Poker Girls for me, ok?
