Marlyn George "Baldy" Kelch, 81, of Smiths Creek, died Wednesday, February 15, 2017.
He was born March 14, 1935 in Flint to the late Claude and Gladys Kelch. He married Joan Frazer on September 18, 1964 in Port Huron.
Marlyn served in the U.S. Army. He was employed as a custodian with the Marysville School District for 28 years. He enjoyed all sports including baseball, golf, bowling, hunting and riding snow mobiles. He could be found many nights collecting tickets at the Marysville Viking Stadium. He was a member of Marysville American Legion Post #449 and was an avid poker and euchre player.
He is survived by his wife, Joan; children, Mary (Ken) Juzysta, Doug Hill, Carolyn (Charles) Ross, Fred (Carol) Hill, Ron (Marianne) Hill and Marlyn (Heather) Kelch; 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sister, Fedelis "Tater" (Alvin) Arnold; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Darwin Kelch Sr.; and sisters, Beverly Davis and Lois LaCoss and a granddaughter, Jennifer Hill.
Visitation will be from 2-7 pm Sunday in the Marysville Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Monday, February 20, 2017 in the Marysville Funeral Home with visitation for 10:00 am until the time of service. Burial will be in St. Philip Neri Cemetery. His grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Military Honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.

Baldy was a great teammate on Boddy Construction when I was a young man. Baldy was also a great boss at the Marysville Schools in the summer with all the young guys. Baldy will be missed!
