So sad to hear of your passing. You have been an inspiration to me and other fellow students at Long Beach State. Your kind words of encouragement, as well as your maternal guidance, allowed many of us to exceed our expectations. Your work at EOP was an extension of your core beliefs that African American students need additional support to be successful at the University level. The love you showed many of us made the difference in graduating and dropping out. Rest In Power Bobbie. I know the Lord is saying "well done, good and faithful servant."

My sincere condolences to the entire Rodgers family. I just learned of the passing of Mrs. Bobbie Rodgers who was a true gift to me during my days at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB). I had the pleasure to work with her on several events and she truly was a delight. I will forever be changed by all the moments of encouragement and knowledge she provided to me. Bobbie had a way of remembering so many birthdays and making you feel so special. Her and my husband grandmother's shared the same birthday and she always wished her a happy birthday.
I feel so blessed that God allowed our paths to cross. May Bobbie's legacy and love for people live on in all of us she touched.
Sleep in Heavenly peace, Mrs. Bobbie Rodgers. I love you
