CARTHAGE
Walter Irvin "Buddy" Fields, Jr. age 62, died Friday, April 14, 2017 at his residence.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, April 17, 2017 at Cool Springs United Methodist Church with the Rev. Arnold Comer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6:00-8:00 pm at Fry & Prickett Funeral Home & other times at the home of Ronnie Fields.
A native of Moore County he was the son of the late Walter I Fields and Pauline Taylor Fields. He was an employee of Sanford Grading for nearly 20 years. Buddy loved his family, racing and horses. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Andrew Franklin Fields.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy Collier Fields; a son, Buddy Aaron Fields & wife, Sandra of Carthage; sisters, Dale Marsh, Dawn Cheek & Marie Stinnett all of Carthage; brothers, Jimmy, Hank & Ronnie Fields all of Carthage; one grand-daughter, Erin Lynn Fields; step children, Kevin Collins & wife, Melissa of Lobelia, Brandy Chapman of Cameron and Cody Presley of Cameron; 6 step grand-children.
Fry & Prickett Funeral Home is serving the Fields family.
