Frederick J. Kaeser entered this life on May 21, 1928. He left peacefully on April 20, 2017 to join his beloved wife,"Midgie" who departed this life three years prior. He leaves behind to remember him with love and smiles, 6 children. His daughters Pamela Roebuck and husband Bill of Lakewood, Washington, Mary-Beth Kaeser of Ashford, CT, and his 4 sons Frederick "Jake" Kaeser Jr. and wife Laura Natusch of New London, CT, Edward and wife Kelly of Casco, ME., James and wife Donna of Willington, CT, and Richard of Willington, CT. He also leaves behind his sister Louise Seabeck of Wethersfield, sisters-in-law Elsie Gevry of Massachusetts, and Muriel Colvin of Rocky Hill. Fred was also blessed with 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved great-granddaughter, Erin Jane Tornquist. Fred was a Mason for over 50 years. He was raised in 1951 and was a Past Master of both Hospitality Lodge 128 in 1986 and Uriel Lodge 24 in 1996. He was a Past Prince of Jerusalem from 1989 through1990. From 1949-1952 he served as Sergeant First Class in the Army of the United States. He was also a master mechanic and heavy equipment operator. His family was his pride and joy. He enjoyed gardening during his retirement, especially growing flowers for "Midgie." He made the best apple cider, carrying on the yearly tradition in his garage after the Danbury Fair shut down. He was a Past Master of the Wapping Grange # 30, and also served as a Deacon for the Wapping Community Church. As a Shriner, he also provided transportation to the Children's Hospital in Boston. Fred had a big heart and was always ready to lend a helping hand where needed. The family wishes to thank the Visiting Nurse and Health Services of Connecticut, Vernon, CT for their care and compassion over the last year, along with heartfelt thanks to Fred's live-in caregiver Dennis Osei Agyekum who treated Fred with the utmost respect and compassion during his final days. Calling hours will be held from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday April 26, 2017 at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road South Windsor, CT with a Masonic service at 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Wapping Community Church, 1790 Ellington Road, South Windsor, CT. Burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children - Boston, C/O Development Office, 51 Blossom Street, Boston, MA 02114 or the Visiting Nurse and Health Services of Connecticut, 8 Keynote Drive, Vernon, CT 06066. I am left with fond memories of my beloved Grandpa. He spoiled us with jelly beans and ice cream, making every visit special. Thank you for taking us fishing! Love you grandpa. <3
