Sandra R. "Sandy" Rodgers, 70, former resident of Denver and Newmanstown, died Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy.
She was the wife of Gary L. Rodgers, to whom she would have been married 38 years on November 9th.
Born in Dansville, NY on November 2, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Eunice (Ebert) Morsch.
A 1966 graduate of Geneseo Central High School in New York, Sandy was employed as a nursing assistant in New York, at the Denver Nursing Home, and as a banquet waitress at the Lancaster Host Resort.
She was a member of Myerstown Baptist Church, faithfully went to the Lebanon YMCA, and enjoyed decorating, flowers, motorcycle riding, and riding bicycle on the boardwalk.
In addition to her husband, Sandy is survived by sons, Jared, husband of Alexis Rodgers, of Havertown, Shane, husband of Jenni Rodgers, of Reinholds; stepdaughters, Michele, wife of Rob Golay, of Lititz, Nadine, wife of Barry Simmon, of Reading; eight grandchildren; sisters, Barbara, wife of Arthur Rosseli, of Arkport, NY, Nancy, wife of Ron Ritz, of Henrietta, NY; a brother, Steven, husband of Jean Morsch, of Nunda, NY; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 14, 2017 at 5:30 p.m. at Myerstown Baptist Church, with a visitation beginning at 4:30 p.m. Interment will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Memory Gardens, 319 Wabash Rd., Ephrata.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mission Fund of Myerstown Baptist Church, 59 N. Ramona Rd., Myerstown, PA 17067, or the March of Dimes, ATTN: DRFR, 1275 Mamaroneck Ave., White Plains, NY 10605.
