Lucille Capra Obituary

Published by Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Newington Memorial on Jan. 26, 2018.
Lucille (Bosco) Capra, "Lulu Bell", 92, of Newington, died peacefully on Friday, Jan. 26, 2018, with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Peter Ernest Capra, Jr. Born and raised in New Britain, daughter of the late Sebastian and Josephine (Sterma) Bosco, she was a Newington resident for most of her life. She retired from the New Britain Town Clerk's Office after many years of employment and was an active member of the Church of the Holy Spirit, Newington. Lucille was a member of the F.M. & E. Club, a close knit group of New Britain High School graduates. She loved sharing tales of her Italian heritage and had a passion for cooking for her family. Her family often joked that, "She never met a cannoli she didn't like". Lulu Bell was an avid reader and treasured spending summer vacations with her family for more than 25 years at Hawk's Nest Beach in Old Lyme. We will miss her wonderful sense of humor and her sweet way of always making you feel good. A devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she leaves two sons, David Capra of Newington, Mark Capra and his wife Peggy of Valencia, PA, and her daughter Nancy Gionfriddo and her husband David of Newington; six grandchildren, Vincent Capra and wife Kathie of Southington, Chelsea Capra and fiancé Earle Rylander of Wallingford, Nicholas Capra and Jessica Capra, both of Valencia, PA, and Dana Gionfriddo and Adam Gionfriddo, both of Newington; and a great granddaughter Zoey Capra. She also adored her five nephews and their families. She was pre-deceased by her "little brother" Peter Bosco and his wife Roberta Bosco, who was like a sister to her. Her family would like to thank the members of the staff of Bel-Air Manor for their kindness and compassion throughout her stay. Her funeral service will begin on Wednesday, Jan. 31, at 9:00 a.m. Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 at the Church of the Holy Spirit, Newington. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in West Meadow Cemetery, Newington. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Newington Memorial. Memorial donations may be made to the Friends of Lucy Robbins Welles Library, Inc., 95 Cedar St., Newington, CT 06111.

Lucille was an amazingly kind and nurturing woman. She was an incredible help to the Anderson kids, as well as the whole neighborhood! She was a true Christian who taught us all that. " It takes a village to raise a child".My sincere sympathies to you all.And thank you Mrs. Capra. Rest in God's Grace.

I had an after school job at Sears and Lucille worked there the same time I did. She taught to how to make a salad from dandelion greens. She had a quick laugh and was fun to eat lunch with.
