Dan Blake

Preston “Daniel” Blake, Sr., 77, of Chesterfield and formerly of Gwynn’s Island, VA, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 28, 2018. He is survived by his daughter and son in-law, Sharon and Keith Poe and his son and daughter in-law, Preston, Jr. and Kathryn Blake; 7 grandchildren, Carly and Taylor Blake, Scott, Dana and Sara Poe and Mitchell and Evan Cowan; sisters, Joyce Neal (Bobby) and June Hines (Pete). He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Gloria Barden Blake; parents, Theodore and Beulah Blake; brother, Theodore, Jr. and his sister, Jean Haggard. Dan was retired from Reynolds Metals, Richmond Foil Plant. He was a former member at Branch’s Baptist Church and Gwynn’s Island Baptist Church. He enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Morrissett Funeral and Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt. 10). His Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Dale Memorial Park, 10201 Newbys Bridge Rd., Chesterfield. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Gwynn’s Island Church, P.O.
