Jenny Nguyen, age 63, passed away on January 23, 2018 in Irving, Texas.
She was born Thuan Ngoc Nguyen in Saigon on July 5, 1954 to Muoi Van Nguyen, a military captain in the South Vietnamese Army, and Canh Thi Phan.
She left Vietnam in 1982 with her then husband, Dinh, escaping to a refugee camp in Indonesia before settling in Dallas, Texas.
Jenny had an artful soul and loved to create. She was a talented seamstress who made everything from beautiful gowns to decorative pillows. She loved flowers, walks on the beach and adopting abandoned and abused dogs. She believed in and adopted the Catholic teaching of preferential option for the poor, and her giving heart always questioned what more we could do to help.
She is survived by her two children, Ann and Daniel.
A service is scheduled for Thursday, February 1, 10am-12pm at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home in Sachse, Texas.
